How much does a destination wedding in Tulum cost?

For a 60-guest wedding in Tulum, most couples spend $25,000–$45,000 total — including venue, catering, bar, photography, planner, florals, music, and guest logistics. Our venue-only packages at Casa Arkaana start at $3,500 (The Seed, up to 100 guests, own vendors) and go up to $10,000 (The Bloom, 100 guests, full setup). See our full pricing breakdown at /packages.

What's included in a Tulum Jungle Wedding package?

The Roots, Tree, and Bloom packages include: exclusive access to the 5-acre jungle property for your event day, ceremonial temple, ancient sapote tree ceremony spot, cenote-fed pool, sound and lighting, dance floor, string lights, tables, chairs, glassware, and 3 nights accommodation for up to 16 guests. The Seed ($3,500) is venue only — for couples bringing their own AV and vendor team.

How many guests can a Tulum jungle wedding host?

Casa Arkaana hosts weddings from 20 to 100 guests. We don't do large-scale events — every wedding here is personal. On-site accommodation sleeps 16; additional guests stay at nearby hotels in Chemuyil, Akumal, or Tulum (15–25 min away).

Is Tulum safe for a destination wedding?

Yes. We hear this question often. Casa Arkaana is a gated private property, 20 minutes north of Tulum town, deep in the Mayan jungle. Our guests travel from across the world — the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Australia — without incident. The property has 24/7 on-site presence during retreats and weddings.

What's the best time of year for a Tulum wedding?

November through April is the dry season with the best weather — 22–28°C (72–82°F), low humidity, minimal rain. May–October is warmer and can have afternoon showers, but early morning and evening ceremonies work beautifully. Hurricane season (August–October) is possible but rare in Quintana Roo; we build weather flexibility into every booking.

Do you need a permit for a wedding in Tulum?

For a wedding on private property like Casa Arkaana, no municipal permit is required — the venue is our home. Beach weddings do require permits (300–1,500 USD depending on location). If you want a legally-registered civil ceremony in Mexico, that's arranged through a Mexican notary and takes 3–5 business days on-site plus paperwork. Most couples do a legal ceremony at home and a symbolic ceremony here.

Can we have a legal wedding in Mexico as foreigners?

Yes, but it requires paperwork. Foreign couples need apostilled birth certificates, single-status affidavits, a blood test in Mexico (24–48 hrs), and a Mexican notary or civil registrar. Most couples find it simpler to marry legally at home first and have a symbolic ceremony at Casa Arkaana — an officiant, priestess, or someone meaningful holds the space. Symbolic ceremonies here are as real as any wedding.

How far in advance should we book a jungle wedding venue?

Most couples book 6–12 months in advance. We accept a limited number of weddings per year — this is our home, not a rented calendar. If you have a specific date in mind (especially November–April), reach out early. Off-season and micro-weddings sometimes book at 3–4 months out.

What's the difference between a beach wedding and a jungle wedding in Tulum?

Beach weddings need permits, deal with wind and heat during the day, seaweed (sargasso), and public visibility. Jungle weddings on private property have complete privacy, cooler shaded space, dramatic natural setting (ancient trees, cenote water, canopy), and no permit hassle. Casa Arkaana adds a temazcal, cenote-fed pool, and 5 acres of exclusive space.

Where exactly is Casa Arkaana on the Riviera Maya?

We're in Chemuyil, Quintana Roo — 20 minutes north of Tulum, 45 minutes south of Playa del Carmen, and about 90 minutes south of Cancun airport (CUN). Close enough to guest hotels and the cenote circuit, deep enough in the jungle that you feel truly away.

What's not included in the Casa Arkaana wedding packages?

Catering, bar and alcohol, photography, florals, and your officiant (priest, priestess, or ceremony holder) are arranged separately. We connect you with trusted local vendors who know the space well. Additional accommodation beyond the 16 included guests is separate ($4,000 for 16 more, 3 nights, breakfast).

Do you offer elopements or micro-weddings under 20 guests?

Yes. Some of our favorite ceremonies here have been elopements and micro-weddings under 20 guests. The Roots package ($6,000, up to 20 guests, full setup) is built for that: a small, intentional destination wedding in the Tulum jungle, without the scale of a bigger celebration.

How do guests get from Cancun airport to Casa Arkaana?

Cancun International Airport (CUN) is about 90 minutes north. We arrange private airport transfers for guests — reach out and we'll share current rates and options. Many guests also rent a car; the highway (307) is direct and safe. ADO buses serve the route too.

Can we have a cenote wedding ceremony?

Yes and yes. Casa Arkaana has a cenote-fed pool on the property — you can have a symbolic water ceremony, a temazcal purification, or a poolside vow exchange. For actual cenote ceremonies (open cenote in the jungle), we can arrange one nearby with the right guide, permits, and preparation.
