How Much Does a Destination Wedding in Mexico Cost? Our Numbers, from a Jungle Venue near Tulum

Four ways to marry here, what each one costs, and where that sits in the market

A couple laughing at the head of their long dinner table under the jungle canopy and string lights at Casa Arkaana, near Tulum

If you have started pricing a destination wedding in Mexico, you have probably noticed two things. Resort packages look cheap, sometimes free. Private venues say “from” and stop there.

Both make sense from where they stand. A resort earns on your guests’ rooms, so the ceremony can be a gift. A private venue would rather talk with you before it talks numbers. Neither gives you the whole picture up front.

We would rather you have the whole number before you write to us. Maja and I run Casa Arkaana, a jungle property twenty minutes north of Tulum, in a small community called Chemuyil. What follows is what a wedding here costs, in four shapes, and where that sits against what the rest of the market publishes.

Four ways to marry here

Every couple who writes to us wants one of four things. Some want a place for the celebration and nothing else. Some want the place and somewhere for their closest people to sleep. Some want a small, low-impact wedding with their twenty favorite people at one long table. Some want us to produce the whole thing. So that is how we price it.

OptionGuestsWhat we provideWhat you bringPrice (USD)
The space (The Seed)up to 100the property for the dayeverything else, guests sleep off-site$3,500
The space and the houseup to 100the property plus 3 nights for 16 with breakfastyour own suppliers$6,500 ($7,500 less $1,000 for staying)
The Long Tableup to 20table by the pool, candles, lights, chairs, glassware, speakers, bar serviceyour alcohol, your caterer or ours$5,000
The whole production (The Tree / The Bloom)up to 60 / 100full setup, bar and foodplanner, photographer, flowersfrom $7,500 + food and bar

Every option gives you the whole property to yourselves. Take the house with any of them and $1,000 comes off.

1. The space · $3,500

The property is yours for the wedding day. The Temple for the ceremony, the sapote tree for dinner, the cenote-fed pool, five acres of jungle, nobody else on the land. You bring your own team: sound, lights, dance floor, tables, chairs, catering, planner, music, flowers. Your guests stay in Chemuyil, Akumal or Tulum and come out for the day.

This is our package called The Seed, and it fits couples who already have a planner and a vendor team they trust.

2. The space and the house · $6,500

The same day, plus three nights on the property for your closest sixteen people, breakfast every morning. Eight rooms, two beds each that join into a king, so the split between couples and friends is yours to decide. You still bring your own suppliers.

The house on its own is $4,000. Taken with the space it would be $7,500. We make it $6,500, because a wedding where your people wake up in the jungle the morning after is the version of this we most want to host. Take the house and $1,000 comes off, on this option or any package below.

3. The Long Table · $5,000 · up to 20 guests

This is the one the property was made for. One long table by the cenote-fed pool, candles down the middle, our string lights in the trees, the ceremony in the Temple before sunset. Rustic tables, crossback chairs, glassware, two speakers for your own playlist, the fire lit as it gets dark. People dance on the gravel. No DJ rig, no light show, no generator, no truck of furniture. Low impact is the point, not a compromise.

Food is around $90 per guest with a caterer we trust, or bring your own. The bar is yours to stock. Bring your own bottles and we bring the bartender, ice, mixers, limes and glassware for $20 per guest.

For 20 guests: $5,000 + $1,800 food + $400 bar = about $7,200. Add the house for sixteen of them, three nights, and the whole weekend is about $10,200.

4. The whole production

For bigger celebrations we set the space up for you, run the bar, and put food on the tables. You still bring a planner, a photographer, and flowers. We are not wedding planners and do not pretend to be. What we produce is the physical day: the space, the sound, the light, the glassware, the bar team, the meal.

Three pieces make up the number.

The package. Full setup of the property: string lights, sound system, dance floor, generator, tables, chairs, glassware, bonfire, altar space. The Tree is $7,500 for up to 60 guests. The Bloom is $10,000 for up to 100.

Food. Budget around $90 per guest. That covers a family-style dinner from a good caterer, service, and tax. Tacos and Yucatecan cooking sit at the low end of that, a plated dinner at the high end. We are not tied to one kitchen. If you have a caterer you love, bring them.

The bar. An open bar for the evening, with bartenders, ice, glassware and everything behind it, runs from about $32 per guest for a standard bar (beer, wine, tequila or mezcal, a toast) to about $65 per guest for a full spirits bar with six liquors, wines and prosecco all night.

Put together:

GuestsPackageFoodBarAbout
50$7,500$4,500$1,600 to $3,300$13,500 to $15,500
100$10,000$9,000$3,200 to $6,500$22,000 to $25,500

Add the house for your closest sixteen and it is $3,000 more, the $4,000 less the $1,000 for staying.

What is not in those numbers

Be clear about this before you fall in love with a total. Whatever option you choose, the following are yours:

  • A wedding planner or at least a day-of coordinator. You need one. Vendors you have never met, in a country you do not live in, on a timeline that breaks if nobody is watching it.
  • Photography. Local photographers who know this light, or yours flown in with two nights of hotel.
  • Flowers and décor. Less than you think here. The jungle, the Temple and the string lights are already doing most of the work.
  • The officiant. Most of our couples do the legal paperwork at home and hold the ceremony that means something here, with a friend, an elder, a priest or a guide.
  • Hair, makeup, attire.
  • Your guests’ hotels beyond the sixteen on site, and the shuttles out to us. We arrange the transport.

Prices for these vary too much for us to print numbers we would have to defend. Ask us and we will tell you what recent couples paid.

Where this sits in the market

This is what the wedding industry itself publishes for Mexico and Tulum, in 2026.

Type of weddingPublished rangeSource
All-inclusive resort package, 30 to 50 guests$5,000 to $15,000, most around $7,000, plus your guests’ room nightsDestination Weddings, Paradise Weddings
Custom wedding at a boutique hotel or private venue$15,000 to $50,000Destination Weddings
60 guests in Tulum, everything in$25,000 to $45,000Signature Destination Weddings
Luxury setups, private beach villas$30,000 to $70,000 and beyondDestination Weddings
Average traditional wedding in the United Statesaround $36,000Paradise Weddings

Two things worth understanding about that table.

The resort number is not what it looks like. A $7,000 resort wedding for 40 guests works because 40 guests each book three or four nights at $250 to $400. The resort earns $30,000 or more on rooms and gives you the ceremony as a thank you. Your guests pay for your wedding. That is a fair trade for many couples, and it is why resort weddings cost what they cost.

We sit inside the private-venue tier, with the whole property to yourselves. At 50 guests with the whole production, you are around $14,500 before your planner, photographer and flowers. That is what a boutique hotel charges for a lawn and a Saturday. The difference is not that we cut corners. It is where the money goes. There is no marble, no beach club, no brand. There is a temple built by hand, a tree older than the town, a pool fed by the cenote under your feet, and a family that lives here. That is the whole product.

Who this is for

Casa Arkaana is for couples who want the ceremony to mean something and then want to dance until midnight under the trees. Couples who want their closest people around them for a whole weekend, not for four hours. Couples who feel more at home around a fire than at a chandelier. People who care where their water comes from and who grew the food, and who would rather honor the land they are marrying on than decorate over it.

It is not for a 200-guest reception, an open bar until 5am (we are solar and the music stops at midnight, which turns out to be a gift the next morning), or a wedding-in-a-box where everything arrives on a tray. Tulum has excellent people for those weddings. We are not one of them.

If the first paragraph sounded like you, you now know what it costs. Twenty people at the long table by the pool, with dinner and your own bottles, around $7,200. Fifty with the whole production, around $14,500. The house for your people, $3,000 more. Everything else in this article is a decision you get to make with open eyes.

How to start

Our four packages are on the packages page. If you want a number for your own guest count, dates and shape of day, write to us. Tell us who you are, roughly when, and roughly how many. Maja or I will answer, and if it feels like a fit we will get on a call and put a quote in front of you with every line on it.

Warmly, Asdru
